About DATA
The Douglas Area Trails Association is a non-profit corporation sponsored by Douglas County to build and maintain recreational trails. We currently maintain and groom 380 miles of snowmobile trails which includes the Central Lakes multi-season, multi-use blacktopped trail that diagonals across Douglas County from the Northwest to the Southeast. You'll easily recognize the latest addition to our grooming fleet, a green Tucker Sno Cat. We will be moving this unit to the NW Trails and utilizing the long track 2003 Tucker & big drag on the Central Lakes Trail. Our 11 person board of directors meets monthly on the second Monday of each month at the Alexandria Holiday Inn to direct operations. Meetings are open to all DATA members so drop by if you are interested or would like to help.

Membership
Family membership is $40 a year with $20 going to MNUSA, the state snowmobile trail association. Your membership contribution helps provide our trail insurance coverage, new trail developments, special trail projects, double grooming during the height of the winter season, and helps pay for our annual landowner appreciation dinner. The $40 combined membership is a great value so please support us by joining DATA, by sending your contribution to DATA, PO Box 112, Alexandria, MN 56308. You can also obtain your membership at any of our local snowmobile dealers; Ollie's Service, Woodsmen Power Products, Evansville Sports & Lawn, and R. B. Specialties.

Trail Sponsorship
To thank the many snowmobilers and businesses who support our efforts, we began the Sponsor-a-Trail program back in 1990. Like the Adopt-a-Highway program, special signage recognizing contributions are erected on the DATA trails each season. Contributions can be in the form of cash, merchandise or material, equipment or special services. Each sponsored mile represents a $100 contribution and the two brown and white signs are located on each side of a trail of the contributors choice (pending availability).
